Plastics

"Plastic" is a generic term that is applied to many different types of resin material. In order to recycle it successfully, the different formulations of plastic resin must be separated from one another. Therefore, we have plastics #1 through #7, which are identified by the number inside the chasing arrow symbol printed on the bottom of plastic containers.

Plastics

Many communities in Erie County recycle plastics #1 (PET) & #2 (HDPE). Some, including Edinboro, recycle plastics #3 (PVC).

Look on the bottom of the container and find the recycling loop. Does it have a #1 or #2 in the center? If so, it's recyclable. Just remove the lids, rinse and recycle.
